Ensemble Mercury is a theatre company created in the Fall of 2015 when founder, Diane Irwin, wanted to direct a piece of theatre with recent fellow graduates of Texas State University. The group was created as an artistic emotional support system for the ensemble as well as a vessel for emotionally impactful and minimalistic theatre.

The first production of EM was the brand new John Cariani play Love/Sick in January 2016. It was well received by the public as well as Michael Meigs who wrote, "Each scene has surprises and each convinces. This gang of friends presents these nuggets clearly and convincingly, using a minimum of props in the great central space of the Museum of Human Achievement. They're all of an age to be keenly exposed to the sweet dangers of which Cariani is cautioning us, and it's evident that they're having a very good time living and delivering his whimsical messages."
